This is a Derbyshire County Council site, so the county rules apply: register your car online before you go, get a temporary permit for a van before every visit, and bring proof of address. Opening hours are 9.30am to 5pm, every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. Fridges and electricals
Erewash Borough Council says electrical items can go to the recycling centre on the Manners Industrial Estate. Bear in mind the county tips are currently limited to one fridge or freezer per household, and any food must be removed first, or it'll be turned away.
Erewash council bulky waste collection
If you can't get to the tip, Erewash Borough Council collects bulky items:
| Type | Price |
|---|---|
| General bulky items (including mattresses) | £36 for up to 5, then £8 each |
| Seating containing foam (sofas, armchairs) | £26 for up to 3, then £10 each |
| Electrical and metal items (including fridges) | £26 for up to 3, then £10 each |
Items must be at the front of your property before 6.30am. General bulky items are collected on Tuesdays, and foam seating and electricals on Wednesdays, by separate vehicles. If you book an electrical item, the crew will also take small electricals like kettles and toasters free.
Living near the border?
Ilkeston is close to the Nottinghamshire border, but the county tips are for Derbyshire residents only. If you live in Nottinghamshire, you'll need to use a Nottinghamshire site instead.
