Derbyshire County Council has warned that heavy weekend lunchtime traffic at Loscoe causes queues on the road outside. To avoid it:
- Go on a weekday if you can.
- At weekends, the council says the quieter times are 9.30am to 10.30am and 4pm to 5pm. Don't arrive before opening, as the council asks people not to queue early.
- When you drive in, follow the staff, who will guide you to the nearest parking space.
- Sort your waste into types before you leave home, so you're in and out faster.
Before you go
This is a Derbyshire County Council site, so the county rules apply: register your car online before you go, get a temporary permit for a van before every visit, and bring proof of address. Opening hours are 9.30am to 5pm, every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. Who uses Loscoe?
Loscoe serves Heanor, Loscoe, Marlpool, Langley Mill, Codnor and Ripley. North East Derbyshire District Council also suggests it for residents in the very south of its area. Some Belper residents may find it the handiest county site too.

Items must be out by 6am, the council won't come inside, and no refunds are given if someone else takes them first.
