Cut back an overgrown garden, taken down a hedge or dug out a patio? Our partners clear garden waste of every kind from homes across Derby and Derbyshire, bagged or loose, and take it away the same day if you need it gone fast.
Your council's garden bin. Most Derbyshire councils run a brown or green garden waste bin, and it's great for regular grass cuttings. But it can't cope with a big clear-out, and soil, turf and rubble usually can't go in it.
The tip. Household recycling centres take green garden waste free from registered residents, but there are limits. Derbyshire County Council's tips don't accept old sheds, fencing, decking or greenhouses, tree stumps or branches thicker than 150mm, or invasive plants like Japanese knotweed. Soil and turf are limited to about 50kg per visit per week.
A collection. For big jobs, a licensed team loads everything for you in one go. That's often the best choice after tree work, hedge removal or a full garden makeover.
Light green waste like branches and cuttings is the cheapest to clear. Soil, turf and stone are heavy, so they cost more per load. As a guide, small garden clear-ups start from around £70.
Bonfires can cause problems with neighbours and smoke rules, and tipping garden waste in a field or verge counts as fly-tipping. Using a licensed collector keeps it simple.
By law, you have to make sure your waste goes to someone licensed to carry it. This is called your duty of care. If an unlicensed operator dumps it and it's traced back to you, you can be fined. A price that looks far too cheap is the usual warning sign. Every company we put you in touch with is registered as a waste carrier, and you can check any company on the Environment Agency public register. Always ask for a waste transfer note or receipt showing who took the waste.

Usually not. Most council garden bins are for green waste only. Soil, turf and rubble need a collection or a trip to the tip.
Yes. Most partners will take down and remove an old shed or fencing for an extra charge. That's useful, because Derbyshire County Council's tips don't accept sheds, fencing or decking.
