Chesterfield's recycling centre on Sheffield Road, known as Stonegravels, serves Chesterfield and much of North East Derbyshire. It's also one of only two Derbyshire tips trialling paid trade waste. Here's how it works.

Most Derbyshire tips don't take any business waste. Stonegravels and Ashbourne are trialling a paid trade waste scheme, but only outside household opening times: 8.30am to 9.30am and 5pm to 6pm. Businesses need to register and pay. Check the county council's trade waste page for current costs.

This is a Derbyshire County Council site, so the county rules apply: register your car online before you go, get a temporary permit for a van before every visit, and bring proof of address. Chesterfield bulky waste collection
Chesterfield Borough Council collects large items like furniture and appliances for £32 for one item or £42 for two to five, with lower concession prices for people on Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support. Collections are normally on a Friday. It doesn't collect DIY and building waste, so for that you'll need a skip or a licensed collection.
