Bretby is close to the Staffordshire border, but Derbyshire's tips are for Derbyshire residents only. Number plate cameras check vehicles on the way in, and you may be asked for proof of address. Staffordshire residents need to use a Staffordshire site.
Before you go
This is a Derbyshire County Council site, so the county rules apply: register your car online before you go, get a temporary permit for a van before every visit, and bring proof of address. Opening hours are 9.30am to 5pm, every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. South Derbyshire bulky waste collection
South Derbyshire District Council charges £42.91 to collect up to six household items. Fridges and freezers aren't included in that and cost £37.91 each. As the tips currently only take one fridge per household, a collection can be handy if you've got more than one to get rid of.
